International Fuel Ethanol Workshop and Expo from June 14-17, 2010

The St. Louis region will host the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop and Expo from June 14-17, 2010, at the America’s Center downtown St. Louis.  The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center will host vendor exhibits and tours of the facility on June 17th.

The Fuel Ethanol Workshop is excited to offer a return trip to the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) – located just 20 miles from downtown St. Louis in University Park on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. On this tour, you’ll get an in-depth look at how NCERC researchers are helping clients validate technologies that enhance the economics and sustainability of renewable fuel production and bioprocessing scale-up. You’ll see the NCERC’s analytical and fermentation labs, as well as its renowned pilot plant.

The NCERC is the only public entity in the world that conducts research, validation and commercial testing of products and technologies on behalf of academia, industry, government, and trade associations.

The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) is unique in that it is the only facility in the world to house the following, all under one roof:
  • Analytical Laboratory
  • Fermentation Laboratory
  • Pilot Scale Biofuels Production Plant
  • Workforce Training Program
The ethanol industry is undergoing rapid transformation. Technology is dramatically altering the processes of ethanol production. For these reasons, the NCERC has undertaken an Advanced Biofuels Initiative. This initiative will assure the continued growth of the biofuels industry. Through expanded capital investments, the NCERC will remain on the cutting edge of conventional ethanol, advanced biofuels and cellulosic ethanol research.

The NCERC provides support to industry in the following areas:
  • Validate processes to enhance ethanol / biofuels production.
  • Move near term research into commercial production.
  • Develop the biofuels workforce of tomorrow through unique workforce training programs.
  • Assist corn growers, livestock producers and the ethanol industry by working together to address utilization of DDGS.
